WASHINGTON — Employees of credit unions interested in applying for grants from the Treasury Department's Community Development Financial Institutions Fund can learn more about the program during a teleconference on Tuesday from 2:00-3:00 ET.

During the session, department officials will discuss the application process and the criteria used to evaluate the programs for which credit unions want to obtain funding.

The fund awards $54 million in grants to community-based institutions that provide affordable financing and related services to communities and populations lacking access to credit, capital and financial services. Since it was created in 1994, it has awarded $564 million in grants.
