SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Former California Credit Union League executive Matt Davidson was chosen by the NCUSIF to take the conservatorship CEO position at $257 million Valley Credit Union.
After 15 years at the California Credit Union League, Davidson left last year to take the chief operating officer opening at $4.2 billion San Diego County Credit Union. However, he left in July after only 10 months on the job.
Davidson said he left on good terms with SDCCU. Rather, a tough commute from Los Angeles to San Diego, as well as the desire to advance his career to the corner office, led to his decision.
Davidson is well-qualified to head the sputtering Valley CU. He not only spent 15 years at the California Credit Union League, but was also superintendent of the Ohio Division of Credit Unions from 1988 to 1991, and formerly had a position on the American Share Insurance board.
