Teachers Federal Credit Union, Farmingville, N.Y., announced that its board of directors awarded the title of director emeritus to founding member Lester J. Gosier. Gosier is the first director to be honored with this status in recognition of his contributions and long history of dedicated service. Gosier served as the credit unions board chairman and as a member of the facilities and planning, supervisory, marketing and personnel committees. In 1991, Teacher's renamed the Bay Shore branch the Lester J. Gosier Credit Union Building. Gosier
taught physics at Bay Shore High School for 40 years. He is a retired Lt. Colonel-United States Army Reserve
and is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College.
SOUTH
HAR-CO Maryland Federal Credit Union, Bel Air, Md., announced the hiring of Joyce Minkley as the new vice president/marketing director. Minkley has over two decades of experience in Maryland banking and has served as vice president of marketing at Farm Credit Bank of Baltimore, Sparks State Bank and most recently Mercantile Bank & Trust.
Greater TEXAS Federal Credit Union/Aggieland Credit Union, Bastrop, Texas, and College Station, Texas, announced that Jennifer Lawhon has been hired as the new Bastrop branch manager. Lawhon has 10 years of credit union experience. Also, Jason Goodman was named assistant vice president of member services. Goodman has been with Greater TEXAS/Aggieland for almost 11 years and was previously the Bastrop branch manager.
Halliburton Employees' Federal Credit Union, Duncan, Okla., announced Chris Bower as its new president/CEO. Bower was formerly CEO of $29 million Laramie Plains Community Federal Credit Union based in Laramie, Wyo. Bower has more than 12 years of operations and lending experience in both credit union and banking industries.
MIDWEST
FORUM Credit Union, Indianapolis, announced the promotion of Justin Minges and Cory Spaulding to branch managers. Minges was promoted to branch manager of the Broad Ripple location. Spaulding joined FORUM in May in 2006 and was promoted to branch manager of the Fishers location.
WEST
Credit Union 1, Anchorage, Alaska, announced that its President/CEO Leslie Ellis is celebrating 25 years of service. Ellis was honored at a ceremony by Credit Union 1's Board of Directors Chairman Roger Aldrich. Aldrich credited her with the credit union's continued growth and success.
Community One Federal Credit Union, Las Vegas, announced that it
has named Robert Burcham information technology manager.
Mountain America Credit Union, Salt Lake City, announced that Josh Harbison has been named manager of the Roosevelt branch. Harbison has been with Mountain America for three years and was
most recently an assistant manager.
The Golden 1 Credit Union, Sacramento, Calif., announced that Chong Musallam has been named branch manager of the Church/Co-op office. The office became part of the credit union as a result of the merger between The Golden 1 and Church/Co-op Credit Union. Musallam joined The Golden 1 six years ago and was most recently working at the credit unions corporate headquarters in the branch operations department.
Greater Nevada Credit Union, Carson City, Nev., has announced Tom Wambaugh as its vice president of member services. Wambaugh has over 13 years of financial institution of experience from Bank of America where he was responsible for banking center and market performance management. In his new position, Wambaugh will manage Greater Nevada's member service team.
Nevada Federal Credit Union, Las Vegas, has named five new assistant vice presidents. John Martino was hired as assistant vice president of development and electronic delivery. Tom Moriarty was hired as assistant vice president of specialty auto finance and Wanida Black was hired as northern Nevada district assistant vice president. Rosi Chicas was promoted to assistant vice president of community outreach and Shawn Zahnow was promoted to assistant vice president of finance/assistant controller.
