NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — For his service to members, Gene Kelly was recently honored with CUSO Financial Services LP's 2007 Gold Pacesetter award.
Kelly is a registered representative affiliated with broker-dealer and registered investment adviser CUSO Financial. He was credited with generating significant revenue while providing high quality financial and retirement planning services to BayPort members, according to the CUSO. Kelly has served the credit union's membership for 15 years.
"We are extremely proud of Gene's accomplishment and the outstanding service he has provided to our members over the years," said George R. Dudley, Jr., president/CEO of $950 million BayPort. "His knowledge, experience and commitment to member service are examples and an inspiration to all of us who strive for excellence in our profession."

Kelly received the Gold Pacesetter award at CUSO Financial's recent annual conference in San Diego. The award honors the top producing registered representatives among the CUSO's more than 100 credit union client investment programs. Top advisers are also recognized for their dedication to high standards, commitment to superior service and outstanding performance in delivering investment services to members, according to CUSO Financial.
CU Banner Greets Dems
DENVER — The Credit Union Association of Colorado/Wyoming, celebrating the opening of its new headquarters building, decided it needed something big and bold to greet delegates and media for the start of the Democratic National Convention.
It chose a banner fixed on the roof of the new building proclaiming "The 89 Million Credit Union Members in the U.S. Welcome You to Denver."
A spokeswoman said the banner idea was a way of reminding the participants of the industry's economic role. The $3 million headquarters, located four blocks from the state capitol, opened for business over the Memorial Day weekend but grand opening ceremonies were held last week.
Association officials noted the facility is a "classic piece of architecture" in the capitol zone considering the building is a renovated 1929 apartment building known locally as "Casa Grande." The association said it spent over a year gutting and replacing the interior of the building to both preserve its charm and "build state-of-the-art technology within the skin of the old building."
