CHESTERFIELD, MO — Members of $1.3 billion First Community Credit Union were able to further lower the costs of outfitting their children to return to school by using their First Community credit cards.
First Community made purchases eligible for Missouri's sales tax holiday over August 1-3 also eligible for 3.9% interest as well.
The promotion was designed to help keep members' back-to-school shopping costs low during a stressful economic time, the credit union said. Nearly 18,000 households have a credit card with First Community Credit Union.
“Many of us are parents and we know how costs add up during this time of year,” said First Community Credit Union President Glenn Barks. “We wanted to take some financial pressure off of parents who sending their kids back to school.”
