SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — Looking to Greek mythology, the Education Credit Union has changed its name to Athena Credit Union.

The move is designed to break consumers' perceived barriers in joining the credit union. The new name pays tribute not only to the $12 million credit union's education roots but also is considered more inclusive.

The Greek goddess of wisdom and education, Athena symbolizes a strong guide who provides good advice and clever council.
