United Educational Credit Union, Battle Creek, Mich. awarded a $400 bright ideas partnership grant to the Albion Public Schools and Albion College Teacher Education Program/Shurmer Education Institute collaboration project. The grant was applied for by Mae Ola Dunklin, director of the Shurmur Education Institute. The purpose of the grant was to provide professional development for Albion Public School teachers, preparing Albion College teacher education students to better meet the needs of the of the K-12 students and to provide support and new curricula on a yearly basis to the K-12 students in Albion.

Municipal Credit Union, New York, announced its continued sponsorship of its Civil Service Sports Series for 2008. The series consists of the NYPD/FDNY hockey game, the NYPD/FDNY fun city bowl football game and the annual NYPD/FDNY baseball game that is played in August. This is the second year that MCU has supported these contests.

McGraw-Hill Employees Federal Credit Union, East Windsor, N.J., raised $5,000 for the First Tee of Greater Trenton during a Texas hold 'em poker tournament. Attendees were treated to a night of friendly competition and food. The tournament champion was Dan Vidovich of Fidelity Investments, and he took home a 50-inch Sony Bravia television.
