Texans Credit Union, Dallas, announced that DeLeonard Fincher was awarded the company volunteer coordinator of the year award from the annual Junior Achievement Dallas business hall of fame. The hall of fame award is presented by Accenture, Fulbright & Jaworski LLP and Chase. Fincher has increased the number of volunteers at Texans CU each year and led the company to be the first credit union in Texas to adopt a high school. The hall of fame celebrates the best of the best in the Dallas business community.

Missoula Federal Credit Union, Missoula, Mont., received United Way of Missoula County’s fourth annual community spirit Award. The award honors Missoula-area businesses for outstanding volunteer and philanthropic service to the community, including United Way. Missoula FCU employees give to the community through a payroll deduction program. Employees have committed to donated more than $15,000 in 2008. Missoula encourages employees to volunteer in the community by offering four hours of paid volunteer time per year. A staff committee also organizes volunteer teams for a variety of programs and events throughout the year.

Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union, Broomall, Pa., was recognized by the Delaware County Attorney’s officer for their work in helping to protect Delaware County senior citizens against elder abuse, particularly fraud and financial exploitation. Each year, the credit union holds special training session for personnel that cover security and safety issues. This year, elder abuse was the special session. Employees from our 26 branch offices were educated on elder abuse and the steps they should take if elder abuse is suspected.
