CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Small businesses and local entrepreneurs here now have another choice to help meet all their banking needs as Charlotte Metro Credit Union has expanded its member services to include business banking, including basic and premier business checking services.
"The Charlotte area has always been a great place to start a business," Charlotte Metro Chief Operating Officer Nicol Morris said. "Whether you're an entrepreneur with big dreams or an established business with growing lending needs, CMCU would like to welcome you to our family." The CU's business basic checking pays a fixed interest rate and requires a $5 monthly maintenance fee, which is waived on accounts with a balance of $2,000 or more. Premier checking will offer tiered interest rates.
The CU also announced that Morris has been named its chief operating officer. Morris brings 20 years of banking experience to Charlotte Metro. "We're delighted to add someone with Nicol's banking experience to our team," President Bob Bruns said. "Nicol is a rising star in the banking community and has dedicated her career to helping her clients achieve their lending and banking goals." Morris will be responsible for rolling out the business banking program and supporting sales and services.
