DUBUQUE, Iowa — Dupaco Community Credit Union was recognized by the Iowa Finance Authority as the No. 1 eastern Iowa-based FirstHome lender, and number six in the state, in the 2007 FirstHome program.
Dupaco is one of more than 400 lenders in Iowa who offer the first-time homeownership programs called FirstHome and FirstHome Plus. Dupaco made 113 FirstHome loans totaling $10.4 million in 2007. As a result, Dupaco earned IFA's Top Credit Union award.

FirstHome is an affordable mortgage-financing program for qualified homebuyers in Iowa. IFA issues tax-exempt mortgage revenue bonds to fund the program. The mortgage loans are provided through participating lenders throughout the state. In 2007, a record 3,485 Iowans purchased their homes using FirstHome.
