PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — Service Credit Union was acknowledged by the Pease Greeters, a nonprofit organization that welcomes and honors military personnel landing at the Portsmouth International Airport, for the credit union's continual support of the program.
"Service Credit Union has been very supportive of all of our activities," said Pease Greeters Chairman Ed Johnson. "They have been wonderful to us, and we really appreciate their support."
Pease Greeters has welcomed 168 flights since the program began in 2005 and has welcomed 29 flights this year at all hours of the day and night.

The Pease Greeters work in three phases, they first welcome the troops with a line of greeters as the troops exit their flights, they supply the troops with refreshments, and then conduct a parting ceremony honoring the men and women for their service.
The donations made by Service Credit Union allowed the Pease Greeters to provide the refreshments to the troops. Service CU employees and President/CEO Gordon Simmons have also been on hand to greet troops on several occasions.
"Service Credit Union is extremely proud of the role we can serve to help the Pease Greeters in their noble endeavor to pay tribute to our troops," Simmons said. "It is an honor for the credit union to give back to men and women who serve our country overseas."
