Meriwest Credit Union, San Jose, Calif., received the Community Champion Award for supporting the Spring Break Anti-Drinking and Driving Campaign. This is the fourth year in a row that Meriwest has supported the Anti-Drunk Driving Initiative. Public service announcements regarding driver's safety and prevention of drunk driving ran on the San Jose State University's campus radio station through the end of spring break.

Mountain America Credit Union, Salt Lake City, was appointed to the Companies That Care Honor Roll by the Center for Companies That Care. Honor Roll recipients are selected for their strong commitment to elevating the quality of life for their employees and for people in the broader community.

Langley Federal Credit Union, Newport News, Va., President/CEO Jean M. Yokum was honored with the 2008 Humanitarian Award from the Virginia Center of Inclusive Communities. The Humanitarian Award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated a personal commitment to the promotion of respect and understanding among people of diverse, racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. Yokum joined LFCU as a teller in 1953 and has been president/CEO since 1979.
