WASHINGTON -- Credit Union Miracle Day, Inc., sponsors of the 36th annual Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10-Mile Run(R), announced today that it has exceeded its goal of raising $1 million for the Children's Miracle Network.

"We are very pleased with these results which clearly demonstrate our commitment to helping children who need it most to get quality medical treatment," CUMD Chairman Juri Valdov said. "It reconfirms the credit union philosophy of people helping people and the credit union cooperative spirit."

CUMD officials and credit union representatives from the Washington area will present the check to Children's Miracle Network tomorrow, April 4, at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. The credit union representatives will also have the opportunity to paint picture frames with the young patients prior to the check presentation.

The world-class road race, hosting 12,000 runners, is slated for Sunday, April 6.
