Neighbors Federal Credit Union, Baton Rouge, La., opened its Patriot Branch in conjunction with Robert E. Lee High School. The branch is the first High School branch in East Baton Rouge Parish. School Board members, Neighbors FCU staff and board members, news media, students, faculty, and staff were on hand to celebrate the opening. To prepare for running the branch, students trained for eight weeks and shadowed employees at Neighbors FCU. The students will earn internship credits and learn real-work experience as they run the branch with the help of Neighbors FCU staff.

Harvesters Federal Credit Union, Pensacola, Fla., opened a new location in Pensacola, Fla. located on the northwest corner of West Nine Mile Road and Bowman Avenue. This is Harvesters FCUs sixth location. The new 4,000 square-foot branch office has four lobby teller stations that have the latest banking technology, three-drive-thru teller stations, and drive-thru ATM.

Pacific Service Credit Union, Livermore, Calif., celebrated the grand opening of its Livermore branch with a ribbon cutting ceremony, refreshments, and giveways. Pacific Service CU Board of Directors, members of the Livermore Chamber of Commerce, local business and community leaders, the media, and representatives from the building construction team Integrated Builders Group, Inc. all attended the ceremony. The new branch is Pacific Service CUs first branch in Alameda County. The branch features, coin-counting and cash-in service, a Cyber Caf?(C), a state of the art ATM that does not require a deposit envelope for checks, and a community room that is available for use by local nonprofit groups. Pacific Service CUs network of offices now spans five counties.

Alcoa Tenn Federal Credit Union, Alcoa, Tenn., opened their fourth location at 2511 US Highway 411, South, Maryville. For the ribbon cutting ceremony, the ribbon was made out of money totaling $250, which was given to Alcoa Tenn FCUs newest adopt-a-school Fairview Elementary School. Alcoa Tenn FCU held a special grand opening week that featured special events each day with a different giveaway each day as well. The grand prize giveaway was a weekend get-a-way to the Gatlinburg area. Alcoa Tenn FCU also had special incentives during the week. They gave $100 incentives for openings of five different accounts and loans.

Langley Federal Credit Union, Newport News, Va., broke ground for its future branch location on Aberdeen Road in Hampton. The new facility features a full-service lobby, 8 drive-thru lanes, one drive-up ATM, and one walk-up ATM. The new branch is scheduled to open in the late summer of this year and will replace LFCUs existing Aberdeen Branch.

Park Community Federal Credit Union, Louisville, Ky., will open two new branches by the end of the third quarter of the year. Park Community FCU broke ground on a new branch at Eisenhower Crossing Shopping Center in Macon, Ga. They also purchased property at 415 Adam Shepherd Pkwy in Sheperdsville, Ky. When construction is complete Park Community FCU will have nine branches in the Louisville Metro Area.

Lakeview Credit Union, Appleton, Wis., opened its newest Fox Cities office located at 1435 Oneida Street. The grand opening celebration included drawings for an iPod Touch, product specials, prize drawings, and live radio remote broadcasts and other activities. The new 4,100 square-foot location features teller pods and automated cash dispensers, and a drive-up ATM.

Mountain America Credit Union, Salt Lake City, opened its second Albuquerque branch. The branch is open Monday through Friday from 9-6 and the drive up is open on Saturdays from 9-2. Vicky Torres, a Mountain America CU employee for two and half years, will manage the new branch.

Long Beach School District Employees Federal Credit Union, Long Beach, Calif., held a grand opening and ribbon cutting event for its new Cerritos Branch office. Officials from the Cerritos Chamber of Commerce, Cerritos City Council, Assemblyman Tony Mendoza's office, State Senator Alan Lowenthal's office, and representatives from local businesses, and LBS Financial's senior staff and board of directors, all attended the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Dort Federal Credit Union, Flint, Mich., opened its new Fenton Road Branch. The new Fenton Branch adds to Dort FCUs five existing branches. The Fenton Branch features upgraded services, such as a remote teller system, to provide members greater convience and increased privacy with transactions. The grand opening celebration will take place on April 5 and feature a ribbon cutting, giveaways, and refreshments.

Nevada Federal Credit Union, North Las Vegas, Nev., celebrated the opening of its Cheyenne and Civic Center Branch. North Las Vegas Mayor Michael Montandon, NFCU Board of Directors Chairman Vince Eckelkamp and Supervisory Committee Chairman Mark Olson, and other NFCU management members were present. The Cheyenne and Civic Center Branch is the 17 branch to open in the Las Vegas Valley.

Metro 1 Credit Union, Benicia, Calif., opened its newest Financial Center. Benicia's Vice Mayor Alan Scwartzman, Chamber of Commerce members, Metro 1 CU Board of Director Chairman Jack Thomson, President/CEO Tina Fields-Dillow, and Vice President Member Service/Education Karen Johnson were all on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony. Tents were set up for Verizon Wireless, Jamba Juice, and Metro 1 CU to offer information. A live DJ booth, food, Jamba Juice sampler cups, games, prizes, and giveaways were also featured at the ceremony.

Baxter Credit Union, Vernon Hills, Ill., was one of 41 companies named to the 2008 Companies that Care Honor Roll by The Center for Companies Who Care, a national not-for-profit organization headquartered in Chicago. Companies are named to the honor roll for dedication to improve the quality of life not only for their employees, but for members of the community as well.

360 Federal Credit Union, Windsor Locks, Conn., was named one of the Best Places to Work in Connecticut by the Hartford Business Journal, the Connecticut Better Business Bureau, and Best Companies Group. The survey and award program is made up of companies split into two groups: small/medium sized companies (15-199 employees) and large-sized companies (more than 200 employees). 360 FCU was named in the medium category for the third consecutive year. To be considered companies have to be a for-profit or not-for-profit business, be a publicly or privately held business, have a facility in Connecticut, and have at least 15 employees in Connecticut.

City of Painesville Employees Credit Union, Painesville, Ohio, was awarded the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Recognition Program at an award reception in Washington, D.C. for its response to the massive flooding that occurred in the area in late July 2006. Board President Ken Takacs and Vice President David Shook traveled to D.C. to take part in the celebration and receive the award.

Pen Air Federal Credit Union, Pensacola, Fla., was honored by the Naval Air Station Pensacola's Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department for continued sponsorship support. MWR is a NAS Pensacola-sponsored organization that promotes and maintains military personnel quality of life through recreation services and morale-building programs. Pen Air FCU has sponsored MWR events such as the Blue Angel Homecoming Airshow, the Power-Lifting Tournament, base concerts, and ship welcoming receptions.

South Carolina Federal Credit Union, North Charleston, S.C., and agency partner Creaxion received a Silver International Davey Award for its "Member Experience" training video. The Davey is judged and overseen by the International Academy of Visual Arts and underwritten by The Creative Group and Adweek Media. Also, South Carolina FCU received two statewide industry awards from the South Carolina Credit Union League. The first award was first place Dora Maxwell Award for Social Responsibility for its 2006 Holiday Shoe Drive. The second award was the Honorable Mention Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action first its 2005 fourth quarter checking promotion.

Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, Phoenix, was ranked first in Arizona and 15th in the nation for credit union auto loans in the Callahan & Associates 2008 Credit Union Directory. Desert Schools FCU free Loan Direct program allows members to apply to get immediate Desert Schools financing at over 200 participating dealers and businesses. Desert Schools FCU also offers financing for motorcycles, boats, and personal watercraft.

Credit Union of Southern California, Brea, Calif., received a Member Satisfaction Score of 97% and a Member Loyalty/Net Promoter Score of 87% for 2007. CU SoCal exceeded their 2006 Member Satisfaction Score of 94.4%. The Member Loyalty/Net Promoter Score was added mid-2006 and indicates how likely members will recommend CU SoCal to their family members, friends, and co-workers.
