SAN FRANCISCO — Patelco Credit Union celebrated the grand opening of its newest branch in Redwood City aimed primarily at serving the Latino community there. Community leaders and local dignitaries were on hand for the recent opening of the branch in Santa Clara County, where Carol Highton, chief of strategic innovation, said, “The purpose of this wonderful night was not to only open our doors to the Latino community, but to open our hearts to those who have paved the road for others.”

Patelco Marketing Consultant Jake Beniflah said he believes opening in Redwood City will be the beginning of a long relationship with the Latino community that seeks better and more customized financial products and services. “The Latino segment needs financial education first and foremost, and Patelco is one of the few financial institutions out there who can actually deliver on this promise,” he said.

Redwood City Mayor, Rosanne Foust, presented the $4 billion dollar credit union with a Proclamation Letter as Patelco, the fourth largest credit union in California, presented its own awards for community service to members of the local area.
