Tempe Schools CU Earns National Nod for VITA Program

Tempe Schools Credit Union has received an honorable mention from the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Recognition Program for its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.

TEMPE, Ariz. — Tempe Schools Credit Union has received an honorable mention from the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Recognition Program for its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.

The program, which utilizes Tempe Schools CU staffers and other trained volunteers, provides tax preparation to low-income families in Tempe and Guadalupe for free. The program has been in place at the credit union since 2004 and is run by Tempe Schools Chief Financial Officer/Senior Vice President Margaret Hunnicutt. The VITA program runs every Saturday through April 12, 2008.
