WASHINGTON — The Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act (H.R. 1537) is not just on the mind of a few assorted members of Congress.
Congressman Brad Ellsworth, (D-Ind.) has become the 143rd co-sponsor of the legislation.
Introduced by Congressman Paul Kanjorski (D-Pa.), the legislation will provide much needed regulatory enhancements for credit unions including increased member business lending, risk-based capital, expanded service to underserved areas, increased voter participation requirements in conversions to mutual savings banks, and other revisions.
