SAN ANTONIO — On target for a branding coup, San Antonio Federal Credit Union said Friday a modernistic mobile ATM it purchased last fall and operating this week on the grounds of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is already reaping huge transaction activity and “is giving us valuable marketing exposure.”

“We couldn't be more thrilled with the results and I'd say we're projecting 4,100 transactions and $325,000 in cash by the rodeo's end,” said Mark Dwyer, senior vice president and chief financial officer.

The self-contained and remote control ATM, purchased from Couvrette of Salem, Va., has been serving rodeo patrons “with lines four and five deep” while bringing in surcharge income of more than $11,000 in a two week period, said Dwyer.

The mobile ATM is scheduled for three or four more festival-type events this year in the San Antonio-Houston markets, said CU officials. The Couvrette ATM is deployed along with new seven ATM kiosks on the site which also is the home for San Antonio Spurs basketball games.

SACU is a sponsor of the rodeo which winds up an 18-day run on Sunday. “SACU is proud to be a sponsor of the 2008 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, which provides such a positive impact on our community through its educational and financial commitment to young people,” said Jeff Farver, president and CEO in a statement.
