WESTBROOK, Maine. — Synergent, a payments processing affiliate of the Maine Credit Union League, has announced a deal to provide the ability to offer card processing services to participating CUs.
The organization struck the deal with PowerPay, an electronic payments firm, to be able to provide the service which Synergent said would include credit card, electronic payment, gift and loyalty card programs.
“PowerPay will bring our credit union partners a valuable new service through a single point of contact,” said John Murphy, CEO of Synergent. “Credit unions are ready to offer their member business accounts a complete payment processing solution.”
Rebekah Higgins, Card Services Manager, detailed some of the unique benefits that the relationship with PowerPay will offer to credit unions.
“PowerPay enables merchants to maximize their payment processing efficiency, security and investment through a consultative approach, custom-fit solutions and 24/7 customer service. PowerPay services include: payment acceptance; credit, debit, loyalty and gift cards; business-to-business and government purchasing cards; petroleum cards; electronic check verification; and standard, high-speed and wireless point-of-sale (POS) solutions.”
