WASHINGTON — The Federal Reserve Board named 10 new members to its Consumer Advisory Council for three-year terms and designated a new chair and vice chair of the CAC for 2008.

The new council members include Idaho Credit Union League President/CEO Alan D. Cameron and Michael D. Calhoun, president of the Center for Responsible Lending, a nonprofit, non-partisan research and policy organization focusing on consumer lending issues associated with Self Help Credit Union. Uptown Consortium, Inc. President/CEO Tony Brown was designated chair and Market Innovations, Inc. Managing Director Edna Sawady was named vice chair. Other new council members include academics, lenders, and community development groups.

The council advises the board on the exercise of its responsibilities under the Consumer Credit Protection Act and on other matters in the area of consumer financial services. The Council meets three times a year in Washington, D.C.
