BROOKFIELD, Wis. — Countrywide Financial Corp.'s veteran chief information officer is taking a similar position at Fiserv Inc.

Richard K. Jones will be Fiserv's new executive vice president and CIO and will report to President/CEO Jeffery Yabuki. He will have oversight responsibility for global infrastructure and technology governance, and for spearheading programs to increase efficiency and effectiveness of Fiserv's dispersed technology resources.

Jones has 30 years of technology experience. The last 12 have been with Countrywide, where he has been senior managing director and CIO since 2000. There, Fiserv says, Jones established industry-leading technology practices, developed Countrywide's global mortgage banking software and Web site infrastructure, enhanced risk management capabilities and led the replacement of legacy systems.
