OKLAHOMA CITY — With power being restored slowly and sporadically, most Oklahoma credit unions were back in business Wednesday though many were still operating on a limited basis closing main lobbies, relying on emergency generators and in some cases shuttering branches and relying on drive-ins until the electricity goes back on.

“There were a few small ones that ran with flashlights early in the week but we told those that asked whether to stay open with limited power that for security reasons, they needed to put a ‘we’re closed’ sign on the door, a cell phone number and then shut the doors,” said Mick Thompson, the state’s banking commissioner.
