LYNCHBURG, Va.– The Virginia Credit Union League's Director of Public Relations and Communications Lewis Wood informed Credit Union Times today that Reggie Jones will not be lobbying on its behalf during the 2008 General Assembly.

Jones, with the firm Williams Mullen, will continue only as the VCUL's retained counsel, Wood said. The League's own internal lobbying team will represent CU interests, he said.

Navy Federal Credit Union disaffiliated from the league and CUNA in protest over Jones' dual representation of credit union issues before the state body as well as speaking for the CFSA, the trade association for 60% of the country's payday lenders.
