WASHINGTON — The Office of Thrift Supervision is considering replacing its Thrift Financial Report with the Consolidated Reports of Condition and Income (Call Report) used by other federal financial institution regulators.
The OTS published an advance notice seeking comment in the Federal Register on Nov. 14 with a 60-day comment period.
OTS Director John Reich said the notice was in response to suggestions from thrift industry executives he has received during various conferences and meetings to convert to the Call Report. He explained in a letter to thrift executives that the change would make comparisons easier among financial institutions and could lower costs associated with filing reports.
