ARVADA, Colo. — Climaxing months of negotiation, the Credit Union Association of Colorado and the $4.1 billion Security Service Federal Credit Union of San Antonio confirmed today that the Texas CU will become a full-dues paying member of the trade group in 2008.
Security's decision to add CUAC to its list of trade memberships is a milestone for the Colorado group that said the Texas CU is the first to take advantage of a 2006 by-law adopted by the organization offering full membership to out of state CUs with a branch presence in Colorado.
No other state league is believed to have taken such a step recognizing the growing multi-state footprint of the industry amidst CU mergers and consolidation, said John Dill, the president/CEO of CUAC.
