SAN DIEGO — California Coast Credit Union CEO Jim McPheters said all his branches are open today, though air quality is still a concern.
“The safety and welfare of our employees is our major focus, but those employees who are able have been making every effort to assist our members,” McPheters said. “It was impressive to see how many employees showed up on Monday, without being requested to, based upon the devastation that was occurring all around them.”
Though some ATMs have run low on cash, McPheters reported all systems are operating just fine at his $875 million institution.
“The winds have died down a little, humidity is up some, temps are down and things are looking slightly more positive. However, we are still a long way from resembling anything near normal,” McPheters said.
The $167 million Cabrillo Credit Union reports all branches open for business today, according to CEO Robin Lentz.
“Our disaster recovery plan was called into action and worked very well,” Lentz said.
Cabrillo plans to offer interest-free interim loans to members who have lost their homes and belonging, and will also collect donations from members and the community, she said.
