TINTON FALLS, N.J. — On Saturday, October 6, United Teletech Financial (UTF) employees, family, and members participated in the Monmouth County SPCA 14th Annual Dog Walk and Pet Fair held at Brookdale Community College. Volunteers from all over the county brought their families, friends and dogs to enjoy the event and show their support. In total, over 2,000 people and 600 dogs were in attendance.
In efforts to raise money prior to the Dog Walk, UTF employees sold water bottles in their branches and collected donations from the community. With their sponsorship and donations combined, the CU was able to contribute over $3,200 to the cause. UTF also gave away free water bottles and doggie bandanas at its vendor table.
"United Teletech Financial is proud to sponsor activities that benefit our community," said Robert J. Flanyak Jr., vice president of retail delivery. "Supporting the Monmouth County SPCA not only allowed us to give back but also gave us the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful day with our families, friends and pets. We're happy to give our continuing support to the SPCA in the future."
The primary reason the Monmouth County SPCA held the event was to raise money for an addition to their facility. The SPCA does not euthanize animals that are unable to be placed in homes, so an expansion will greatly help the shelter to properly house and care for the animals. The Dog Walk allowed them to reach their goal by raising over $105,000 for this cause.
