CHICAGO — The Center for Economic Progress, a leading nonprofit working to improve the economic condition of lower income families, believes that more credit unions and credit union members would benefit from more CU involvement with the VITA program.

VITA stands for the Voluntary Income Tax Assistance program which is administered by the Internal Revenue Service but which many community organizations, including credit unions, have begun to get involved.
