GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. — Bellco Credit Union is helping area fifth and sixth graders brush up on their constitutional rights.
As part of Constitution Week, the credit union handed out unabridged copies of the United States Constitution to some 3,000 Jefferson County fifth and sixth graders. The credit union has also passed out Constitution Question and Answer flashcards.
Constitution Week in Colorado was founded by the nonprofit Liberty Day organization in 1996 to celebrate the signing on the Constitution. The goal of Liberty Day is to teach future generations about the nature of the U.S. government. Liberty Day's slogan is "A Constitution in every pocket."
