ATLANTA — Design, construction and consulting firm IBT Enterprises has joined the U.S. Green Building Council.

The USGBC is a nonprofit organization composed of leaders from every sector of the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.

According to IBT it is one of the first design/build providers with a focus on financial services to have USGBC standing.

IBT's design and architectural team has also begun the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accreditation process, with nearly 50% of IBT's designers already having achieved Accredited Professional status.

LEED is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.
