TOMS RIVER. N.J. — The Ocean County prosecutor's office in New Jersey confirmed yesterday that a drowning victim discovered by a passerby Monday night in Manasquan Inlet is Frank D'Alessandro, a Fort Myers real estate broker and defendant in a series of suits involving Norlarco Credit Union of Fort Collins, Colo. under NCUA conservatorship.

A spokesman for the prosecutor said D'Alessandro, 52, drowned as a result of an apparent boating accident. D'Alessandro had been missing since last Wednesday after his kayak was found overturned off a Mantoloking beach.

The D'Alessandro death made headlines this week in the Coloradoan, a Fort Collins paper that has been chronicling the collapse of Norlarco and its lending links to failed real estate deals.
