WASHINGTON — CURIA catapulted past its peak co-sponsorship from the 109th Congress reaching 127 with primary co-sponsor Paul Kanjorski (D-Pa.) just seven months into the 110th.

Representatives Norm Dicks (D-Wash.), Marilyn Musgrave (R-Colo.), and Neil Abercrombie (D-Hawaii) recently added their names to the co-sponsor list for the Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act (H.R. 1537).

CURIA was a key focus throughout NAFCU's Congressional Caucus and will be during the state leagues' more than a dozen scheduled Hike the Hills throughout September. The bill will create a risk-based capital framework for credit unions and provide some regulatory relief measures as well as enhancements.
