SAN DIEGO — A business has put up an Internet site that offers to help consumers with poor credit scores by adding them as authorized users of consumers with good credit scores.

Many consider the practice called "piggy backing" to be fraudulent, but tradelinesolutions.com reassures prospective customers that the practices are perfectly legal.

"There are no laws prohibiting this practice," the Web site said. "This technique has been used for many years by mortgage brokers, bankruptcy lawyers and real estate agents to help boost their client's FICO scores. Our goal is to help you increase your score so that you can get financing at better terms and start saving money."
