WASHINGTON — Several credit unions received recognition from President George W. Bush for their roles in Operation Best Wishes, a program that helped military families send messages to their family members on active duty via Webcast.

“Today the volunteers of our military are completing difficult missions in some of the most dangerous and desolate parts of the world with skill and honor. We are grateful to our men and women in uniform and their families for their courage and sacrifice during these historic times. Their service and dedication make every American proud,” the president's letter read.

Credit unions recognized include Fort Bragg FCU, Military & Civilian CU, North Island CU, Pacific Marine CU, Windward Community CU, America's CU, America First FCU, Marine FCU, Langley FCU, Navy Federal CU, ABNB FCU, Andrew FCU, and AmeriCU CU.

DCUC President/CEO Arty Arteaga announced the recognition at yesterday morning's opening session of the DCUC Annual Conference.
