MADISON, Wis. –The UW Credit Union branch on Monroe Street has recently achieved the distinguished "Silver" certification from the U.S. Green Building Council in Washington, D.C.

According to UW Credit Union, its new branch is the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certified credit union in the Midwest.

Project architect/builder PLANNING Design Build says cost efficient/energy savings such as daylighting in 90% of the retail area, 40% less water use than the National Energy Policy Act, and over 95% of the construction waste being recycled or reused helped UW Credit Union achieve LEED silver status.
