LENEXA, Kan. — As of today Community America Credit Union members can follow their global positioning system (GPS) devices to the nearest fee-free CO-OP Network ATM.
The $1.5 billion CommunityAmerica Credit Union has struck a deal with Garmin, a manufacturer of GPS to add their directions to CO-OP ATM Network ATMs that are available to them. Now members who have them will be able to global positioning system devices produced by Garmin to find the nearest CO-OP Network ATM, the CU said.
"As with most financial service providers, credit union members who use an automated teller machine that is not part of our cooperative network can pay from $2 to $5 per transaction," said Guy Russo, chief information officer at CommunityAmerica Credit Union. "Members can now load credit union network ATM location information into Garmin devices and get quick and easy directions to the nearest fee-free ATM.

"Members tell us there's a need for cash on the spur of the moment while driving around town or on vacation. With this service, ATM transactions at a co-op credit union now are just as convenient and economical as at large national banks."
