CUNA Sponsors a Banker on Capitol Hill?

In an effort today to grab the attention of Capitol Hill staffers and members of Congress prior to the month-long August recess, CUNA brought a banker to Washington.

WASHINGTON — In an effort today to grab the attention of Capitol Hill staffers and members of Congress prior to the month-long August recess, CUNA brought a banker to Washington.

As one might guess, it was more of a satire. CUNA hired an actor who greeted commuters as they exited the Capitol South metro station during the morning rush hour. He stood before a ‘big bank’ background and shouted, “Up with profit, down with people.” Large bills were dripping out of every pocket and he fanned himself in the sticky Washington, D.C. heat with stacks of cash in his hands.
