LATHAM, N.Y. — Newly-elected assembly members Ellen Jaffee (D-Rockland) and Kenneth Zebrowski Jr. (D-Rockland) joined representatives from the Westchester-Rockland chapter of the New York State Credit Union League for an informal lunch at Palisades Federal Credit Union to discuss issues impacting today's credit unions.

After reviewing items from the League's legislative agenda, the discussion moved on to the needs of underserved areas. The group shared their thoughts on how credits unions, in keeping with their "people helping people" philosophy, are uniquely positioned to help serve those that cannot or are not receiving services from more traditional financial institutions.

"Local credit unions realize the importance of their legislators," said host Mark Welshoff, president/CEO of Palisades Federal Credit Union. "Gatherings like this are a good opportunity for credit union professionals to dialogue with their representatives, voice their concerns and to gain their support."
