TUKWILA, Wash. -- BECU will save more than $250,000 in the next three years with a new human resources software system, according to the vendor who supplied the tools.
The $7.5 billion CU has gone live with the UltiPro system from Ultimate Software.
The new system runs on the Microsoft SQL server platform and now matches up with the rest of the big CU's internal systems, replacing the UNIX-based ERP system the HR department had been running.
Lower maintenance and overall operating costs will help fuel savings of more than $250,000 in the next three years, according to Greg Stannard, BECU's HRIS manager.
UltiPro's Internet-based system provides staffers with anytime, anywhere access to HR information.
"Managers also have the flexibility to approve employee timesheets from hotel, office or home," Stannard says. "The flexibility of the UltiPro portal also allows us to provide links to outside resources, such as benefit providers."
Ultimate Software is based in Weston, Fla., and has a diverse client list that includes SkyWest Airlines, Nintendo of America, Elizabeth Arden and the New York Yankees and Florida Marlins baseball teams.
