LEOMINSTER, Mass. — Leominster credit union has named Gordon R. Edmonds president/CEO, effective immediately.
Edmonds had been serving in those capacities on an interim basis since mid-May. The board's vote was unanimous.
"Gordon possesses outstanding management and interpersonal skills," commented Butch Bilotta, chair of LCU's board. "His style is characterized by a respect for others. The Board feels strongly that Gordon and the management team in place will take the necessary steps to grow our franchise by offering quality products and outstanding member service."
A member of LCU's management for six years, serving until his new appointment as senior vice president, lending, Edmonds said of his new position, "I am pleased that the Board has expressed such confidence in me with this appointment. I am excited to continue working with and leading the entire team toward achieving our strategic goals and objectives for growth and member satisfaction."
Prior to joining LCU, he had senior positions at a number of financial institutions, including Hanscom Federal Credit Union, Bank of Western Massachusetts and Bank of New Hampshire.
Edmonds is a graduate of both the National School of Banking and the National School of Retail Banking and has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Southern Vermont College.
