Freshman Representatives Bruce Braley (D-Iowa), Ed Perlmutter (D-Colo.), and Betty Sutton (D-Ohio) added their names to the bill as did first-time co-sponsors John Culberson (R-Texas) and Howard McKeon (R-Calif.). Ciro Rodriguez (D-Texas) also joined the list; he had co-sponsored the bill in the 108th Congress but got caught up in the Texas gerrymandering fiasco and lost re-election for the 109th Congress. Additionally, Mary Bono (R-Calif.) signed up to co-sponsor CURIA again.
