DULUTH, Ga. — Marking a 12-year alliance, 37 representatives from 10 Georgia credit unions and the Georgia Credit Union Affiliates traveled to Poland last week as goodwill ambassadors.

The group visited Vienna, Austria and Warsaw, Poland, met with Polish dignitaries, toured partner credit unions and attended a number of formal events. Outreach to the Polish credit union movement through Georgia's People to People Polish Partnership has yielded strong ties between credit unions in Poland and Georgia, the league said.

The Polish Partnership was formed on May 12, 1995 to establish cooperation for the benefit of the Poland and Georgia credit union movements. It focuses on helping develop new products and services, training leaders of new Polish credit unions, sharing information and expertise, funding special projects, providing technical assistance and participating in exchange visits.
