WASHINGTON — The Federal Reserve Board has announced that it is seeking nominations to its Consumer Advisory Council and the national credit union trade associations will make their recommendations heard.
The group advises the Fed on its responsibilities under the various consumer financial services laws and other matters as requested. American Airlines Federal Credit Union General Counsel Faith Anderson currently serves on the council.
NAFCU has said it plans to nominate Truliant Federal Credit Union General Counsel Joseph Clark, Esq., and United Nations Federal Credit Union Vice President of Legal Compliance and General Counsel John Lewis. CUNA had not decided on nominees as of press time.

The Fed is looking for 10 new members to serve three-year terms on the CAC, which meets in Washington, D.C. three times a year. Nominations should include a r?(C)sum?(C) and the following information:
-Complete name, title, address, telephone, e-mail address, and fax number;
-Organization's name, brief description of organization, address, telephone and fax numbers;
-Past and present positions, dates, and descriptions of responsibilities;
-Knowledge, interests or experience related to community reinvestment, consumer protection regulations, consumer credit, or other consumer financial services; and
-Positions held in community and banking associations, councils, and boards.
Nominations should also include the complete name, organization name, title, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and fax number of the nominator.
The deadline for nominations is Aug. 24, 2007. Electronic nominations are preferred and the form is available at http://www.federalreserve.gov/forms/cacnominationform.cfm. Nominations can also be mailed to Sheila Maith, Assistant Director and Community Affairs Officer, Division of Consumer and Community Affairs, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, Washington, D.C. 20551.
