ARLINGTON, Va. — During its recent meeting, the NAFCU Board re-elected three to leadership positions and elevated another.

Campus Federal Credit Union President/CEO John Milazzo was re-elected as NAFCU's chair. "I am delighted to continue my work as chair of this exceptional organization and to have the opportunity to build upon the efforts we have undertaken in the last year," Milazzo said. "With the assistance of our outstanding staff and board, I will be steadfast in my commitment to protect the credit union tax exemption and strengthen the federal credit union charter."

Milazzo joined the NAFCU Board as an at-large director in 1999. He has previously served as vice chair, treasurer, chaired the Membership and Finance Committees, and served on the Regulatory and Legislative Committees.

His new, one-year term as chairman will begin at the close of NAFCU's Annual Conference in Honolulu on July 20.

In addition, NAFCU re-elected Nevada Federal Credit Union President/CEO Bradley W. Beal as vice chair and Webster First Federal Credit Union President/CEO Michael Lussier as treasurer. The NAFCU Board also elected First Source Federal Credit Union President/CEO Michael Parsons as secretary to replace Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union Chairman Dave Gilbert who is leaving the board because of term limits.

Milazzo commented, "We greatly appreciate Dave's service on the board for these last nine years. His sage counsel and support proved very valuable throughout his tenure. Dave has been a shining example for all credit union volunteers who wish to become involved in their national association."

In related news, Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union President/CEO Charles Thomas was elected to replace Gilbert as the Region II director. He will also begin his term at the conclusion of the Annual Conference.
