HONOLULU — Hawaii's largest credit union has turned to security specialists from Cajun country to help keep the big CU and its members safe from fraudsters.

HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union (www.hawaiiusafcu.com) signed a four-year deal with TraceSecurity of Baton Rouge, La. for security training, annual on-site vulnerability assessments, annual external penetration tests and quarterly external vulnerability assessments. Ensuring the $847 million credit union complies with regulatory requirements also is included.

TraceSecurity (www.tracesecurity.com) has more than 500 clients and includes in its specialties social engineering training and testing, including tactics such as sending staffers posing as delivery people, for instance, into a bank or credit union office and then showing how easily that person could gain access to confidential data.
