ITHACA, N.Y. — The $51 million Alternatives Federal Credit Union's CEO, Bill Myers, is retiring and the 28 year old CU's board, staff and supporters have planned a celebration and roast for Myers, as well as starting a youth internship program which will bear his name and a Weblog devoted to collecting memories of Myers' time at the CU.

The celebration and roast will take place on June 14 in Ithaca and the CU has reserved a block of rooms spread across two area hotels to accommodate well-wishers who may travel from outside the area for the event.

The CU said the Bill Myers Youth Internship will support youth "committed to working on issues of economic and social justice," the CU said, adding: "Our ambition is to ignite the community development spark in the bright leaders of tomorrow."
