Want employees to be better health care consumers? Reconsider how your credit union is delivering the information.
According to global consulting firm Watson Wyatt, efforts to encourage employees to take more responsibility for health care and retirement planning may be undermined by the lack of a unified technology and content strategy.
A recent survey finds that employees are more likely to change their behavior and become more discerning benefits consumers if they can find relevant, personalized and meaningful information.
As employees of all ages are using technology–particularly the Web–seamlessly in their personal lives, they expect their employers to provide a similar, consumer-grade online experience.
The survey finds this preference is relatively uniform across generations–63% of employees ages 18 to 49 like to receive information via the Web, as do 60% of those ages 50 to 59 and 53% of those 60 and older.
While the Internet is one of employees' preferred ways to receive information, simply providing links to multiple provider Web sites leaving employees to navigate the system is not effective.
