WASHINGTON — Two members of the $319 million Lafayette Federal Credit Union have submitted petition signatures to the CU to become candidates for the board in the next board election.
The credit union has sent out a notice that three board seats are up for election, according to Robert Navin, a member who works at the U.S. Agency for International Development who is one of the candidates. The other candidate, Louis Emery, works for the U.S. Export-Import Bank.
The credit union has not yet acknowledged the petitions for the board seats, Navin said. The CU requires 1% of the members to sign petitions for board candidates, in this case 168, Navin said. Both he and Emery had over 200 each, he added. Emery was on vacation and was unable to comment for this story. –[email protected]
