WASHINGTON — On March 16, the American Bar Association's Credit Union Committee met in Washington, D.C. to discuss the many legal issues of the day.
NCUA Board Member Gigi Hyland visited with the group to discuss current issue like NCUA's Outreach Task Force that she is chairing after NCUA's Member Service Assessment Pilot. In addition, the Credit Union Committee talked about NCUA's Field of Membership Chartering Manual review concerning community charters, the new law capping loans to service members at 36% and potential implications, as well as other timely issues. Attending the meeting (pictured here) were CUNA General Counsel Eric Richard; Senior Policy Advisor to Hyland Gary Kohn; Committee Chair Mary Dunn, CUNA deputy general counsel; ABA liaison to the Committee Stacey Walker; Board Member Hyland; and Committee Vice Chair Faith Anderson, American Airlines FCU general counsel. Behind the camera was Paul Davis, a Maryland attorney who is also a member of the committee.
