TAMPA, Fla. -- NCUA Board Member Gigi Hyland hosted an Access Across America Summit last week in Tampa, Fla., in an effort to open credit unions' eyes to new possibilities to enhance member service.
"My goal for the Tampa summit was to strive for innovation while providing helpful and useful tools so those attending may enhance service to their members," Hyland said.
NCUA's summit offered participants sessions on key topics such as payday lending alternatives; Volunteer Income Tax Assistance; check cashing, savings, innovation, and other services; and an agency perspective on exam issues. Speakers at the summit included Hyland's Senior Policy Advisor Gary Kohn, Florida Credit Union League President Guy Hood, National Credit Union Foundation REAL Solutions Program Director Lois Kitsch, and many others from within credit unions and the outside.
Access Across America was established to promote partnership opportunities with federal agencies and facilitate credit union offerings of affordable financial services.
